SIP Trunks are a direct connection between your office and your provider, that allows you to make VoIP calls over the Internet, rather than via traditional forms of communications, such as analogue and copper-wire.
SIP is also carry other forms of media and communication, such as multimedia and video conferences, enhanced emergency calls, colleague presence information and instant messages.
You could save as much as 60% on call charges compared to traditional ISDN phone lines, with bundled calls to mobile and numbers abroad included for a fixed rental cost. There is no physical connections to a phone company, and you only purchase the necessary number of channels you need, or alternatively, pay only for the amount minutes used per month.
Unlike traditional telephone lines, SIP trunks are sold by the channel. This means you can purchase exactly the number of channels you need. If you need additional channels, they can be purchased on-demand, at anytime, whenever you need them, so you aren’t overpaying for something you don’t need, you’re getting exactly what you want, and nothing more, or less.
Lines can be activated within a minutes, saving you time and money. It’s easy to migrate, there’s no need for an engineer, and you can keep your current telephone number, while saving on call charges. In the unlikely event a problem should occur, any repairs and fixes can be done remotely by your provider, helping you save on call-out charges.
Calls with SIP can be re-routed to another location such as another office or even your home, so business operations can remain seamless. Even if disaster strikes at your office or home, you and your staff can still receive calls and allow the business to run smoothly from a temporary location.
If you so choose, you can also keep your original phone number, even if you’re switching from ISDN lines. This can save hours of administration work, updating websites, buying new business cards and informing partners of your new number, as well you and your staff having to learn and remember it.
